Look, the fact of the matter is this is probably a very lovely place to enjoy dinner (hence the 4 stars). However, this establishment is far too close to The Book of Mormon to be this fancy. I, a foolish American, came in here because it was the most delicious looking place by the theater I was going to, and I was craving some chicky chicky parm or perhaps a fettuccini alfredo. I looked at the menu and had no friggen idea what anything was -- again, probably on me. I ordered the lobster ravioli, which I've enjoyed numerous times in my past. However, this one came with a complete lobster atop my ravioli, shell and all. Tip: The legs are actually shell, so don't eat that. I felt as though I was being tested to see if I knew how to eat a lobster with just a fork and knife. Guess what? I failed. I could feel the fine people of England judging me as I fumbled with my lobster shell. That's fine; they will feel my judgment when they sit before my throne at the end of their lives. #IAm
I ordered the tomato almond pesto on grain pasta, it arrived with a single tomato adorning the top, and tomato mixed in with the pesto sauce. The thinly sliced almonds brought a rich, nutty flavor to partner with the grain pasta. I wish that the tomatoes had contributed a bit more to the flavor, to add more juiciness to the heavy nut base. Price point was a little high for the quality as well as portioning. Service was sporadic.
Possibly the best food we had all week in London! Having grown up in a Sicilian family, this food met all expectations and then some. The fennel salad was a delicious mixture of flavours and they were not skimpy on the finocchio (fennel). The cannoli was a perfect blend of creamy and crispy--just like Nonna's. Not to mention great service. Loved it and highly recommend it! Surprised the crowd was so light, but we may have come in early.
Had a lovely lunch at Enzo's! Luigi was a great waiter and our food was so delicious. I am sure I won't be eating the rest of the day because we had the 2 course lunch and it was super filling. Very close to our hotel - we should have found this place sooner. Location is right off haymarket-don't miss this authentic Sicilian restaurant.
